I had the spontaneous pleasure of spending the afternoon with two lovely friends, Libby and Maeve, oh and little bubs ofcourse, on Friday.
We did a spot of antiquing and i found some small vases to use on tables at the wedding reception. bonus.
We had lunch at a great little "alternative" style cafe in Paddington called Java Lounge cafe. Super relaxed vibe accompanied great food and drinks! The pineapple, mint and orange frappe was a hit, "3 please waiter!".
But after lunch came the highlight of the day. No, not little bubs deciding that right in the middle of lunch was the time to do a number 2, thus needing to change her rather unusually well filled nappy on the back seat of Libby's car. But it was our little visit to Monty's Chocolates.
Well, I never.....!
What a quaint little chocolate shop! Greeting you at the door are buckets of beautiful rose bunches in all shades, reminding me of gelato.
Inside is even more colour and actual sweets. The walls are lined with imported chocolates and the counter packed with glass candy jars filled with goodies...could it get any better!?
Yes.
The lovely Maeve shouted us two chocolates each to give us a taste, she was a regular already.
We all had a piece of her favourite, A caramel filled moment of joy. Can't remember the name, but can remember the taste, amazing.
The next was our own pick. I chose a rose flavoured delight. I was so happy with my choice. No buyers regret here.
It was glorius, truelly. I savoured every moment of that small piece of rose chocolate goodness and I can still taste is two days later.
Libby had informed me the Hot Chocolate was to die for, but as the temperature outside was oven-like I decided not to try it this time and vowed to make a special trip back when it was a little cooler just to try the hot chocolate made from actual Swisse chocolate.
Just as we were finishing our chocolates the lovely lady behind the counter came out with three little cups of hot chocolate for us to sample, complete with our own wooden spoon to eat it with. Yup, the hot chocolate is not like the regular "watery" hot chocolate, but smooth and thicker like a sauce. Commom in Italy i believe? The spoon is used because its too thick to drink.
It was amazing, like heaven in a cup on a spoon in my mouth.
I HIGHLY reccomend you make a trip to Monty's.
Today.
Even if your not a fan of chocolate....actually, if your not a fan of chocolate you shouldnt make a trip there, your should probably make a trip to a hospital and have yourself committed.
Well, as i head off to bed tonight, I will be dreaming of wooden spoons dripping with chocolate, candy jars, and.....my hubby-to-be.....thought I better give him a mention ;)

BEEP BEEP 2010! I'm in the fast lane this year!
Why Hello there dear bloggers!!
I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season and ate and drank and relaxed themselves silly!
Well hasn't 2010 started off with a bang out of the blocks!?
Every year seems to go quicker, and my wedding day to A.J is drawing closer! Totally excited! Like a puppy!
So I have finally decided on colour theme and centrepieces for the wedding, at last! Its only taken me a year! I like so many things and am easily influenced by other pretty, shiny images of table decorations! I'm my own worse enemy as I easily lead myself astray by jumping online to browse sites such as The Knot.com, which now has an Australian site too, and Style Me Pretty.com, for inspiration and just get myself confused and stressed as I want it all!!!!
But here is a little idea of what I'll be doing.....
So the colour theme is white, creme or champagne and romantic tones of pinks like blush and berries and dull fuschias thrown in for good mesure. Oh and ofcourse splashes of gold and silvers.
The colours in this pic are an inspiration, plus it looks yummy and makes me want a jam roll RIGHT NOW! (Lucky i bought some at the grocery store thisarvo!)
I started collecting pretty, antique crystal and glassware a few months back and glass teapots that could not be sold anymore from where I work. I have since decided to spray paint the glasware white! I have found creme crocheted placemats from Spotlight that i am going to use in the centre of the table to break up the white, and then with all the jars of baby food that I collected over the last few months Im going to place pink coloured candles in them . Oh and I have a colection of pink and gold morroccan and turkish tea glasses just to slatter around the display as well.
And the flowers that will go in the glassware and teapots will be pinks. Ofcourse.
So I feel very happy and calm about the fact I have finally made a solid decision and am pretty sure it will all look great! (i hope!!)
Obviously I will post pics asap after we get back from the honeymoon...oh who i can not wait for the honeymoon! Cocktails in the pool and daily day spa treatments here i come!!!
Below are some photos from Style Me Pretty where I found the inspiration to spray paint the glassware white. In theire DIY post they spraypainted the glasware and random objects black for a standout look againt purples. LOVE IT!!!
Anyways, I must be away, I need my beauty sleep and time to dream of new pretty, shiny things!
Ciao Ciao xox
