Visual Inspiration

Im a visual person. I learn by watching and then doing. So I also get lots of inspiration from what I see around me and the cool things I find on the web. That said, I also get the other half of my inspiration from music and the pictures I conjure up in my head from listening to lyrics and the music that goes with those words.
As you can probably tell, I'm feeling very inspired, emotional and a bit creative. Great combo. And these 3 feelings seem to all link, one follows the other and  creates the other and so on.
So today I am being inspired by my good friend over at The Last Doll Standing blog, Ri. She is gorgeous and fashionable and arty and creative and has a great sense of humour and impeccable taste in music. She has tickets to Powderfinger, Leonard Cohan, Yusef Islam/Cat Stevens, The Cat Empire and John Butler. I am insanely jealous of her and her tickets. I shall live my folky, musical, hippy life vicariously through her.
I am also being inspired by my dearest friend Em. Right about now, she will be on a plane, chugging some vodka and feeling a little nervous, a little excited and hopefully empowered. She is on her to visit family in the U.K. Satying a month. Checking out Paris with her equally as stunning sister.
Also insanely jealous.

And then last but not least, I'm being inspired by Winter. Yes, you heard right, Winter. I hate Winter, my least favourite season. And you wana know my least favourite weather occurance? Wind. HATE IT!!
The wind makes me frustrated and grumpy. The cold and overcast days make me miserable and unmotivated. The dry air ruins my hair and skin. Yuck!

But.... Today I am feeling like a change of attitude is in order. Today I feel like embracing the cold, snuggling with knitted scarves and rugs. Buying fingerless gloves to keep my hands warm whilst typing. Wearing a beaning. White faux fur jackets over flowing wedding gowns. Wearing fat socks and drinking stupid amounts of chai tea and hot chocolate. Oh and enjoying my tea with a homemade banana muffin made by yours truelly.

So today I will leave you with some pictures to evoke winter warmth and love and hoepfully smiles.

Enjoy xoxo

Real Bride - Erin & Gav

What The Bride Said....
" The day started out with a relaxed and calm morning getting ready at The Stamford Plaza. Things got hectic once Michelle (Photographer) arrived and it was pretty much go, go, go from then! A few champagnes helped us along!

I Started to get nervous, anxious, excited and overwhelmed when I got out of the car at Victoria Park. Once I saw Gavin I became a blubbering mess :-( he he. The ceremony was lovely and it was so special to have all our family and friends there to witness it.
The photos ran smoothly, apart from the wind completely ruining my hair, he he...but the end result is perfect! We are in love with our photos!
Our reception venue looked spectacular, I was so happy with it. The food was great and so were the wait staff. It was a beautiful night with close friends and family.
The photo booth kept every entertained, and we have some great photos as a result!!

Hints/Tips:
Follow your heart, its your day and you don't want to look back and wish you'd done something different.

Real Bride - Erin & Gav

Two weeks before our wedding, Andy and I had the total pleasure of attending the wedding of our friends, Erin and Gavin.
These two are such a genuine and lovely couple. I'm so happy the friendship between Erin and I has blossomed over the years and I was so proud we could share the day with them.
Because Erin and I were only two weeks apart in getting married, we were able to share and vent  about all the little details and ask each other for advice or help. Whilst still on her honeymoon (but back from her fantastic trip to Vomo Islands, Fiji), Erin even came and helped me out a few days before our wedding when I was having a bit of a stress!! How good is she!!??

So here is a sneak preview....
I'm so glad I can share these gorgeous photos, of two gorgeous friends, with you.
Enjoy xox

Winter Hairstyles 2010

SiennaAmyTaylor  Linda

Winter is upon us. You can feel the dry lips and rosy cheeks already.
This season, like alot of other trends, are throwing back to the days of old Hollywood glamour.
Hair is taking a trip in the DeLorean back to the 1940's, and it's a good thing, as a 1940's hairdo is perfect timeless glamour for your wedding.

Enjoy,

What's under your dress??

Just because your dress might be worth half of your entire wedding budget, doesn't mean you have to wear your Bridget Jones granny pants and tshirt bra underneath just to save your pennies.

Underwear chain, Bras N Things have just launched their newest range, titled White Label. Not a very creative name, but it's straigh to the point, which in chain retail, will get you the pennies.

But I was rather impressed with the whole range. Elegant, pretty and classic but with enough modern design and current trend features like pretty bows and pearls to make it feel it little more luxury than it is.

And I was pleased to find MY wedding bra was in the range....the "Promise" strapless bra. Comfy and supportive with a bit of push, not that I have anything to push though.....but thats another post....

So now you can run in and pick up your wedding day underwear when you pop down the shops to grab the milk....Handy!!
Have a browse....

For the honeymoon??
Something Blue perhaps??

Wedding Envy

Girls are full of envy. Even if its not spitefull. Im full of envy. I know it. Jealousy can swell inside when I see pictures of brides looking more amazing than I did, or when I see pictures of the finer details of a wedding that i think i should have had....I do find it quite funny though...and my envy quickly turns to lust, the evil envy never lasts long. And the thing is, we all get it, we all get that instant thought of "Oh I wish i had done that" at some point or another, whether it be with weddings or with that dress you saw last week and said "no I'll wait till next pay day". Then when you go back to purchase, another girl is walking out of the changeroom with the last size 10 in her hand and making a bee line to the cash register. I find myself just feeling really impressed other brides are doing their way, with their own stamp of individuality on it all. Its so easy to get sucked into doing things or not doing things just coz your Mum or Mother In Law or sister or cousine tell you to or to not.

But anyway, don't feel bad if after your own wedding you get Wedding Envy. Its totally natural. Mostly what you feel will be Wedding Lust or Wedding-I-wish-could-do-it-all-again. Be sure not to pick up the mountains of wedding magazines that you bought and flick through them again, thats where it allllll starts, and its only a downward spiral from there, you will find yourself casually walking to the bridal magazine section of your newsagent like you did on the same day every week for the last year. STOP!

Anyway,
I am hoping to start showcasing other peoples Weddings on here and showcasing the  vendours that helped make their day so wonderful, So that you too can have some Wedding Envy forced upon you.
Here is a sneak peak of two of my friends Katie and Jim and their nuptuals at the family property in Warwick, Queensland. Such beautiful surroundings which make for beautiful photo opportunities!! I have Wedding Envy/Lust/Joy for their Big Day too...ofcourse...

I will post more of this in a few days when I get all of the details form the happy couple.

Much Love to you all,
Ciao xoxox

Amazing isn't it?

I found this couple on my fav blog, Style Me Pretty.
It was the first thing I saw when i opened the page and it literally took my breath away, I actually gasped.
With a throw to the 1950's with the gown, the pose, the tattoo, even the hair, this is what expressing your personality and style is about!
Weddings in Australia are still so "same, same". But thankfully we are catching up with the rest of the world in terms of style and creativity.
The photographer is Graig Paulson, I am now googling everything he has ever done.
